From 9 to 12 May 2026, the Heart Failure Association (HFA) Congress took place in Barcelona, Spain, and online, bringing together over 6,000 clinicians, researchers, and heart failure experts from around the world.

Organised by the Heart Failure Association of the ESC, the event offered the opportunity to share cutting-edge research, clinical innovations, and digital health solutions aimed at improving care for heart failure patients. On Sunday, 10 May, DORIAN GRAY took the HFA Stage to share its innovative approach to integrating cardiovascular and cognitive health.

During a storytelling session titled “Personalized Prevention with AI in Heart Failure and Cognitive Decline – Insights from the EU-Funded Project DORIAN GRAY”, speakers Dr. Mauro Massussi (University of Brescia), Professor Riccardo Proietti (University of Liverpool), Professor Stefan Störk (University Hospital of Würzburg), and Dr. Laura Antohi (Bucharest Emergency Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases) highlighted the often-overlooked link between heart failure and mild cognitive impairment.

The session highlighted the importance of evaluating cognition in heart failure patients, pointing out that traditional tests like NT-proBNP and echocardiography may miss early signs of cognitive decline. Through AI, digital twins, and multidomain interventions, DORIAN GRAY is pioneering personalized prevention strategies that bridge cardiovascular and brain health, enabling clinicians to act before cognitive decline becomes irreversible.

By tackling the often-unseen cognitive challenges faced by heart failure patients, DORIAN GRAY is helping redefine patient-centered care, offering innovative tools that support earlier detection and more effective intervention across Europe.
