Located in Bucharest, the institute serves as a national reference center for cardiac and cardiothoracic emergencies, offering highly specialized and multidisciplinary care. Named after the renowned Romanian cardiologist Prof. Dr. C.C. Iliescu, the institute is affiliated with the "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy and plays a key role in the education and training of medical professionals and researchers. The institute is actively involved in European cooperation projects and research initiatives in the field of cardiovascular health. It is equipped with advanced technologies for cardiovascular surgery, interventional cardiology, and short and long-term mechanical circulatory support and serves as a university and postgraduate training center for clinical and scientific research.
