Prof Franco Giubilei

Principal Investigator (PI)

Franco Giubilei is an Associate Professor of Neurology at Sapienza University of Rome . Director of the Stroke Unit and the Dementia Diagnosis and Treatment Center (CDCD) of the Neurology Unit at the AOU Sant'Andrea of Rome. He has authored over 150 scientific publications, with more than 100 focused on dementia research.

Dr. Virginia Cipollini

Dr. Virginia Cipollini is a board-certified neurologist with a medical degree, specialization in Neurology and PhD in Neuroscience, from Sapienza University of Rome. For the past ten years, his clinical and research work has focused primarily on dementia and cognitive disorders.

Dr. Donato Colantuono

Donato Colantuono is a neurologist, graduated and specialized at Sapienza University of Rome. Currently PhD Candidate in Neuroscience. For the past three years, his clinical and research work has focused primarily on dementia and cognitive disorders at the Dementia Diagnosis and Care Center (CDCD) of Sant’Andrea Hospital in Rome.

Dr. Laura Ziccardi

Dr. Laura Ziccardi is a neurology resident at Sapienza University of Rome, Sant’Andrea Hospital. Over the past four years, she has gained clinical and research experience in dementia and cognitive disorders at the Center for Cognitive Disorders and Dementia (CDCD) at Sant’Andrea Hospital in Rome. Since March 2025, she has been conducting a research fellowship at Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, focusing on the study of the glymphatic system in Alzheimer’s disease and aging.

Erica Pace, M.Sc. in Healthcare Management

Clinical Research Coordinator

Erica Pace holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome and currently serves as a Clinical Research Coordinator. She has over six years of experience in hospital-based clinical research. In her studies and career, she has developed expertise in managing and supporting clinical trials within a hospital setting. She plays a central role in coordinating the daily operational aspects of clinical studies. Her commitment to quality and patient safety is reflected in her strict adherence to GCP guidelines, ethical standards, and safety protocols across all study activities.
