Life Science Innovation Good Healthcare Technology S.C.A R.L.

LIGHT – Lifescience Innovation Good Healthcare Technology – is a technological infrastructure for operational innovation in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Biopharmaceuticals, and Digital Health Care. It was established by the University of Brescia in collaboration with companies Dompè Farmaceutici S.p.A., an Italian leader in the biopharmaceutical sector, and Antares Vision Group, an Italian multinational leader in traceability and quality control of products and supply chains. LIGHT is a no-profit initiative, based on a public-private partnership that has raised €10 million in funds, receiving support from the Ministry of University and Research through the PNRR Innovation Infrastructure Grant. LIGHT fosters multidisciplinary collaboration between academic research and private entrepreneurship.

Cesare Furlanello

Data Scientist & Entrepreneur

Cesare Furlanello is a machine learning expert and Director of the LIGHT Center (Brescia) focused on AI in healthcare and biopharma. He is CEO of HK3 Lab, an AI startup for predictive health. With a math degree from Univ. of Padua, he has held senior research roles at FBK and taught at the University of Trento. Author of 200+ papers, he collaborates with the US FDA and leads many research projects. He’s won awards for deep learning in medicine and climate, and founded the WebValley Data Science Summer School.
