RHL
The Regional Hospital Liberec (RHL) is a multi-disciplinary regional hospital in the Czech Republic with specialised centres such as cardiology, neurology. It provides services for the whole of the Region of Liberec as well as for its subregions. Some departments, such as traumatology, the spinal unit, cardiology, oncology, neurosurgery and perinatology are also available for use by other regions of the Czech Republic. The hospital’s specialists play an active role in nationwide, European and worldwide congresses and are also involved in international clinical studies and grants.
Zuzana Eichlova, MD
Deputy Chief of Neurology
Dr. Zuzana Eichlová serves as the Deputy Head of the Neurology Department and Head of the Stroke Unit (since 2020) at the Comprehensive Cerebrovascular Center and Neurocenter of the RHL She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Charles University in Prague in 2009. She obtained board certification in neurology in 2014, along with specialized qualifications in electroencephalography (2014), neurosonology, and vascular neurology (2023). She is a member of the Czech Neurological Society JEP and the Czech Multiple Sclerosis Society. Dr. Eichlová has completed several internships and certified courses, including: Cerrahpaşa School of Medicine – Department of Plastic Surgery, Istanbul (IFMSA, 2008), Institute of Hand and Plastic Surgery, Hospital in Vysoké nad Jizerou (2009), MS Center – University Hospital Motol, Prague (2008, 2009), Course in Manual and Myoskeletal Medicine, 3rd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, University Hospital Královské Vinohrady (2011), Salzburg Medical Seminars International – Neurology (2013).

Pavol Tomasov, MD, Ph.D.
Interventional cardiologist and Head of the Catheterization laboratory
Pavol Tomasov, MD, PhD is an interventional cardiologist and Head of the Catheterization Laboratory at the Regional Hospital Liberec. He specializes in the percutaneous treatment of complex coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and acute heart failure, with a particular focus on mechanical circulatory support. Pavol Tomasov earned his medical degree from the First Faculty of Medicine at Charles University in 2006. In 2016, he completed his PhD with a thesis focused on the genetics of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. His academic and clinical work bridges advanced interventional techniques with clinical research in cardiovascular medicine. He serves as a board member of the Czech Association of Interventional Cardiology and is an active member of the European Chronic Total Occlusion Club.

Vendula Machackova, Ph.D. is an internationally experienced healthcare leader with over 25 years of expertise spanning strategic management, digital innovation, and academic research. Currently serving as Head of Science, Research and Innovation at Regional Hospital Liberec, she leads multidisciplinary medical projects across national and EU frameworks, focusing on value-based healthcare and patient-centred innovation. With an academic foundation—including a Ph.D. in Strategic Management and multiple master’s degrees in international management and healthcare administration, Vendula also lectures at the Technical University of Liberec. A member of the European Commission’s ACPHE and several national advisory boards, Vendula is a passionate advocate for digital transformation, healthcare education, and collaborative innovation ecosystems.
