ESC

European Society of Cardiology

The ESC is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit medical society, which brings together healthcare professionals from more than 150 countries, working to advance cardiovascular medicine and help people to live longer, healthier lives. Their mission is to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease. Under DORIAN GRAY, the ESC is Work Package Leader for WP 14 which focuses on Communication, Dissemination, and Exploitation. Its role is to ensure that the project's results are effectively shared with relevant stakeholders through strategic communication activities. The goal of the ESC is to facilitate the transfer of the new treatment into medical practice and to produce policy recommendations for policymakers and institutions.

Elsa Pacella

EU Projects Officer

Elsa Pacella is EU Projects Officer at ESC. Prior to joining ESC, she worked for other Brussels-based organizations in the field of health first aid, emergency and democracy support. In her previous roles she worked on EU-funded projects, supporting the administrative work, as well as advocacy and policy work, and communications. She holds a Joint Master’s Degree in International Relations from Bologna University and Corvinus University in Budapest.

Fernanda Santana

EU Project Manager

With a background in Political Science and Communication, Fernanda Santana is an EU Project Manager at the European Society of Cardiology, contributing since 2022. In this role, she is responsible for the coordination of EU-funded research projects, ensuring smooth collaboration among international partners and compliance with funding requirements. Fernanda plays a key role in fostering cross-association collaboration within the ESC, acting as a liaison between various ESC associations to ensure that EU projects are effectively integrated into the Society’s diverse initiatives.

Alkmini Vrachopoulou

EU Project Officer

With a background in Health Studies, Alkmini Vrachopoulou is an EU Project Officer at the European Society of Cardiology. After completing her studies in Greece and Finland, where she focused on real-world problem-solving and interdisciplinary innovation, she transitioned into project management. Since then, she has contributed to a variety of EU-funded initiatives in areas such as non-formal education, international cooperation, youth engagement and sustainable development. In the ESC she is responsible for the implementation of EU- funded research projects, facilitating effective cooperation between partners and ensuring that all activities align with funding guidelines and objectives.

Celestine Sonia Matsinkou Feutu

Project Assistant

Celestine Sonia Matsinkou Feutu is a Project Assistant at the European Society of Cardiology, having joined the organisation in 2024. With an academic background in Political Science, International Relations, and European Studies, she supports several EU-funded research projects with a focus on communication, dissemination and cross-association collaboration.

Cindy Birck

Project Officer

With a PhD in neuroscience, Cindy Birck is a Project Officer at Alzheimer Europe, contributing since January 2017. At Alzheimer Europe, Cindy plays a pivotal role in several EU-funded research initiatives where she leads and supports dissemination and communication activities within these projects, ensuring that research findings are effectively shared with stakeholders. Additionally, Cindy maintains the organisation's clinical trial database, providing accessible and up-to-date information on clinical trials investigating drugs for Alzheimer's disease and dementia in Europe.

Angela Bradshaw

Director for Research

Angela Bradshaw is the Director for Research at Alzheimer Europe, a position she has held since October 2023 after joining the organisation in 2019 as a Project Officer. She earned her PhD in vascular biology from the University of Cambridge. Prior to joining Alzheimer Europe, Ange worked as an assistant professor at the University of Glasgow, leading translational research projects on vascular diseases associated with ageing. As her current position, Ange leads stakeholder engagement and communication workstreams for a number of EU-funded research projects spanning topics from dementia detection to data sharing and artificial intelligence.

Soraya Moradi-Bachiller

Public Involvement Officer

Soraya Moradi-Bachiller is a Public Involvement Officer at Alzheimer Europe, having joined the organisation in June 2022. With an academic background in neuroscience and biology, she earned her Ph.D. from the Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research in Italy. At Alzheimer Europe, Soraya collaborates in the Public Involvement aspects of different EU research projects, actively involving members of the public, in these research projects, other than as research participants, to share their perspectives, needs and priorities, ensuring that research is both relevant and inclusive.

Lelia Ataliani

Managing Director Infotrend Innovations Co. Ltd and Owner

Lelia Ataliani holds a degree in Computer Science from Queen Mary College ( University of London) and a postgraduate degree in Distributed Systems and and MBA degree from University of New Haven(USA). In 1997 she founded Infotrend Innovations an IT and consulting firm delivering high-quality software, consulting services especially for critical public and financial sector clients. Lelia with experience of more than 25 years has been actively involved in several projects both EU and Non-EU in the MEA region covering different tasks and activities, She is also actively involved in Cybersecurity projects and she is the Cyprus national representative for ISO JTC1/SC27 WG4 Security Controls and services.

Christos Koziaris

IT, Risk, Security & Assurance Management

Christos Koziaris is an IT Engineer with postgraduate degrees in Business Administration and Security and Risk Management. He holds several certifications, including CRISC, CDPSE, and DPO from TUV Austria. With over 35 years of experience in IT, including 16 years at Vodafone, he has expertise in risk management, e-business, application development, system integration, and process improvement. Koziaris has been involved in regulatory compliance programs like SOX, GDPR, and has participated in EU Projects such as Lethe, TeleRehaB DSS, and CyberSecDome. He served on the Board of Directors of ISACA in Greece from 2016 to 2021. Currently, he works as a business consultant focusing on data security and cybersecurity.

Miltiadis Anastasiadis

Director of Sales in Public Sector

Miltiadis Anastasiadis is holding a Beng(Hons) in engineering and an MSc in electronic control engineering from Salford University UK, and has more than 35 years of experience in public sector tender proposal submissions and management as well as EU research projects with several companies and organizations. He has an extensive experience in technological areas like: transport telematics, e-health, energy telematics systems, e-commerce, business intelligence, decision support systems, mobile apps and supply chain management. He has participated in many projects either in the public or private sector and has also participated in more than 60 EU research co-funded projects in all above stated technological areas, being also the technical manager in some of them. Many of these EU research projects were in eHealth like DORIAN GRAY and Miltiadis has been involved in areas like DMP, Data Protection and Security and systems management and commissioning.
