September marks the beginning of World Alzheimer's Month 2026 , a global campaign dedicated to raising awareness of dementia, challenging stigma and encouraging earlier recognition and diagnosis. This year also marks the 15th edition of World Alzheimer's Month, led by Alzheimer's Disease International (ADI) under the theme: “The Earlier You Know, The More You Can Do. A Diagnosis Matters.”
Started in 2012, World Alzheimer’s Month takes place every September. Each September, people unite from all corners of the world to raise awareness and challenge the stigma that persists around Alzheimer’s disease and all types of dementia.
This year’s campaign focuses on the importance of early diagnosis. Early diagnosis can help individuals and their families access timely treatment, care, support services and future planning, improving quality of life through both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
A key highlight of the month is World Alzheimer’s Day, observed annually on 21 September. While World Alzheimer’s Month provides a full month for awareness activities, World Alzheimer’s Day serves as its focal point, with memory walks, educational events, fundraising campaigns and advocacy initiatives taking place worldwide. It is also the day when Alzheimer's Disease International releases the annual World Alzheimer Report.

At DORIAN GRAY, we are proud to join this global initiative with our campaign message: “The Earlier You Know, the More We Can Do – Together”.
Our campaign will connect awareness with action: understanding cognitive decline, remaining physically and mentally active, ensuring that support follows diagnosis, and designing technologies with people rather than only for them.
Through the DORIAN GRAY project, researchers, clinicians, technology developers and people with lived experience are working together to explore how physical activity, cognitive stimulation and personalised technologies can support healthier ageing and everyday autonomy.
Throughout the month, we will share stories, research insights and expert perspectives from across the DORIAN GRAY consortium. Our campaign will follow a clear thematic journey throughout September:
Throughout September, follow our campaign on our social media channels! LinkedIn will be our main platform for the full editorial series, articles and interview videos, while key messages, quotes and campaign highlights will also be shared on Instagram and Bluesky. Don’t forget to watch the full videos on our YouTube channel!
We invite you to follow our channels, engage with the content and help us amplify these important messages by sharing our posts with your networks.
Together, we can transform awareness into action, reduce stigma, promote earlier diagnosis and help ensure that everyone affected by dementia receives the support they deserve.
