The EU4Health calls for proposals under the 2025 Work Programme are now open! Announced by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA), this funding opportunity spans nine important topics that align with the DG SANTE policy priorities for the year ahead. Topics 4 and 5 are of particular interest, as they focus on cardiovascular health, presenting exciting opportunities for initiatives aimed at improving prevention, treatment, and health outcomes in this key area.

About EU4Health

EU4Health is designed to improve crisis preparedness and bolster the resilience of Europe’s healthcare systems. It provides funding to national authorities, health organizations, and other relevant bodies. Managed by HaDEA, the programme oversees most of the EU4Health budget and implements it through various calls for proposals.

About the open calls  

The call opened on 23^rd September 2025 and will be open for proposal submission until 06 January 2026 at 17:00:00 CET (Brussels). The total available budget for the call is €56 816 810, with €20 000 000 and €2 000 000 specifically allocated for the two topics EU4H-2026-SANTE-PJ-04 and EU4H-2026-SANTE-PJ-05. For each topic one grant agreement is expected to be signed. 

To be eligible, applicants must be legal entities (public or private) and be established in one of the following countries:

• EU Member States
• Iceland, Norway, Ukraine, Moldova, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina

To provide further information about the calls, HaDEA and DG SANTE have organised an online info session open to all potential applicants and stakeholders that will take place on Thursday, 9 October from 10:00 to 15:30 (CET).        

Topic 4 - EU4H-2026-SANTE-PJ-04 - A European flagship initiative leveraging AI and health data for cardiovascular health and related non-communicable diseases: Advancing Risk Prediction, Prevention, Treatments, Personalised Care and Rehabilitation 

This call aims to revolutionize cardiovascular and chronic disease management by advancing AI applications to enhance patient outcomes through personalized care. The initiative focuses on improving early diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and related non-communicable diseases (NCDs) while building a secure, interoperable European health data ecosystem.

Key objectives

The main objectives include:

• Development of high-quality data across the EU
• Diverse health datasets for AI use
• Creation of secure data infrastructure under the European Health Data Space (EHDS)
• Validation and scaling of AI tools for early detection and personalized care

The project will pilot these AI solutions in real-world healthcare settings and create guidelines for large-scale integration. 

Expercted impact

The initiative aims to improve health outcomes by enhancing prevention and management, increasing equity and access to personalized care, boosting the efficiency of healthcare systems, and fostering greater trust in AI through the assurance of data privacy and adherence to ethical standards. Ultimately, it seeks to accelerate the adoption of AI-driven solutions, transforming healthcare throughout Europe. 

Topic 5 - EU4H-2026-SANTE-PJ-05 - Call for proposals on lifelong prevention for a healthy life with focus on cardiovascular diseases 

This call focuses on lifelong prevention for a healthy life, with a special emphasis on reducing the burden of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs).  

Key objectives

The primary goal of this action is to reduce the prevalence of NCDs, including cancer, by supporting preventive measures throughout the lifespan. This call focuses on the following vital areas:

• Lifelong Prevention 
• Active and Healthy Ageing
• Reducing Tobacco and Alcohol Use
• Promoting Healthy Lifestyles
• Mental Health Awareness

Expercted impact 

This call aims to increase public health initiatives across EU Member States, with efforts targeted to scaling up prevention programs, raising awareness, and improving public health outcomes related to NCDs. By focusing on vulnerable groups and addressing health inequalities, the call also aims to create long-lasting changes in public health practices, leading to healthier populations and a stronger European healthcare system.
