On 10-11 December 2025, the European Alliance for Cardiovascular Health (EACH) will organize the EACH Cardiovascular Health Summit at the EU Parliament in Brussels, a two-day event aimed at advancing cardiovascular health across Europe.
This upcoming Summit will examine the critical intersection of science, policy, and collaboration. Day 1 will centre on policy and systems, featuring a rich agenda beginning with a keynote address by Oliver Varhelyi, EU Commissioner for Health, who will introduce the EU Cardiovascular Health Plan. The session will continue with insightful discussions from the European Parliament on cardiovascular policy, followed by brief scientific presentations addressing the link between cardiovascular and mental health, as well as environmental factors influencing cardiovascular risk. A high-level policy panel will discuss strategies for addressing health inequalities and promoting equity in cardiovascular care across the EU, and the event will also present Denmark's successful national approach to cardiovascular health.
On Day 2, the focus will shift to research, science, and patient viewpoints. Key topics will include the future of innovation in cardiovascular health, with patients sharing their experiences and how their stories can support EU cardiovascular policy. A session will also address the critical connection between cardiovascular disease and cancer, and the day will conclude with a panel on competitiveness and investment, highlighting how improving cardiovascular health can benefit the EU economy and society as a whole.
The Summit represents a unique chance for health professionals, policymakers, and national representatives to engage directly with Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), exchange best practices, and explore new trends in cardiovascular risk and prevention. Participants will gain valuable insights into patient experiences and examine the EU Cardiovascular Health Plan and its potential impact on Europe’s future.
